Coefficient Of Alienation

Definition: In statistical analyses such as correlation, regression, or path analysis, the coefficient of alienation is a statistic that varies in value from 0.00 to 1.00. It is used to indicate the degree to which one or more independent variables fail to explain variation in a dependent variable. The closer the coefficient is to 1.00, the poorer the model is at explaining the dependent variable.
